Cooking for a cause

We can't wait to host you and your team at Cooking for a Cause. Please come prepared for an active and rewarding experience, here's all the information you need to know before you start cooking!

Get ready to cook!

Please arrive 15 minutes before your session starts so we can give you a magical yellow apron and to allow you time to put your belongings away, wash your hands and set up! For the safety of your team in the kitchen, please ensure you follow the below:

  • Wear closed in, flat and comfortable shoes such as sneakers. No heels, ballet flats or open-toe shoes. Participants wearing uncovered shoes or heels will not be permitted in the kitchen.
  • Tie long hair back.
  • Please remove any jewellery or items of value prior to arriving.
  • Ensure you wear comfortable clothes you can move and cook in!
  • Bring a drink bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day

Safety in the kitchen

There are strict health and safety regulations when it comes to food production that need to be followed. You must ensure you are in good health and not experiencing any flu like symptoms or any other health concerns that may result in food becoming contaminated. This is particularly important due to the demographic of people at our recipient charities who will be enjoying the nourishing meals you make.

Event locations and contact information

Location: Warehouse G3/G4, 46-62 Maddox St, Alexandria NSW 2015 (Map)

Please note, you will need to park outside of the complex, or please consider public transport/Uber options (encouraged).

This is a working warehouse estate, and the parking spaces are used for regular deliveries by other companies who operate within the estate (i.e our neighbours) as well as our own regular deliveries and pickup/drop offs. Thank you for understanding!

A special request: Our Waterloo Market is low in stock. We would be so appreciative if on the day your team could also bring along food to be donated. We accept food donations on site at the OzHarvest Warehouses and will arrange to have it brought over to the Market to be handed out to our vulnerable community. Every little bit helps so even if it’s just a can or two! Learn more here.
