Leading for-impact organisation, OzHarvest has appointed Cameron Adams, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at Canva, to the Board of Directors. Cameron is passionate about building organisations that think beyond their bottom line, have a positive impact on the world, and work to tackle our current climate crisis – all things that OzHarvest champion every day.
Chairman, Lawrence Goldstone said Cameron’s experience working with for-impact organisations, along with his passion and innovation, made him a great addition to the team. “I’m delighted to welcome Cameron to the Board. Canva has done a lot to support OzHarvest over the years, so Cameron is a familiar face that knows the organisation well. The last couple of years have certainly been challenging, so having strong leaders that bring diverse perspectives and experience is a priority for the Board.”
Cameron first came across OzHarvest in 2015 and has been following their journey since then. “I first discovered OzHarvest after reading about food waste and what a huge problem it was. I thought it was a brilliant idea at the time, but became an avid fan a couple of years later when we hosted a day-long cooking session for our whole team at Canva. We cooked and packed 1,000 meals, shared many stories, and made a real difference. I’m honoured to bring my skills to the board and help to magnify OzHarvest’s impact not only in feeding people in need, but also shifting climate change through reduced food waste.”
As Co-Founder and CPO of online design platform Canva, Cameron has been a key part of one of Australia’s biggest technology success stories. The company has provided OzHarvest with vital support, particularly in the past couple of years, ranging from financial donations to teams packing hampers and more than 78,000 meals cooked and packaged in their kitchens helping to feed vulnerable communities. Prior to Canva, Cameron worked with the co-founders of Google Maps as a product designer on their ground-breaking communications product Google Wave, and also started a design agency that produced work for global clients such as NEC, Atlassian, TEDx and Sydney Festival.
