New chef line up for Harvest Bites restaurant meals for good
by
Harvest Bites is a new delicious meal delivery service with a difference being piloted by OzHarvest in collaboration with leading hospitality partners, restaurant groups and Ambassador Chefs. Following a successful start with the Fink Group, OzHarvest has just revealed the next five weeks of chefs and their menus.
The latest line up of notable chefs include: Corey Costelloe (Rockpool Bar & Grill Sydney), Andy Evans (Spice Temple), Travis Harvey (OzHarvest), Graeme Hunt (Chin Chin), Jacqui Challinor (Nomad), celebrity chef and MKR host Colin Fassnidge and more to come.
As Sydney’s chefs and restaurateurs were forced to close their doors due to COVID-19 restrictions, this special project has seen them return to the kitchen. Fink Group chefs got the ball rolling, with Peter Gilmore, Lennox Hastie, Rob Cockerill and Richard Ptacnik who created heart-warming dishes for customers to enjoy in the comfort of their homes during the first few weeks of the pilot.
Beautiful fresh produce and artisanal bread has been sourced from local, small-scale food suppliers, growers and producers, lending support to the industry who have been hard hit during the pandemic.
OzHarvest Founder and CEO, Ronni Kahn AO said the hospitality sector is an integral part of OzHarvest’s food rescue operations. “It was heart-breaking to watch all our incredible chef ambassadors close their restaurant doors. After so many years of the hospitality sector supporting us, it’s a privilege for us to be able to work together to share their talents in a new way that will also help us feed those in need.”
Harvest Bites offers customers homestyle restaurant-quality meals, with proceeds raised from each purchase allowing OzHarvest to provide food relief to vulnerable communities during COVID-19.
Each week will spotlight a much-loved restaurant who will create a delicious menu for Harvest Bites available in two options – $48 for a meal for two and $90 for a family of four with an added $15 delivery cost. Added extras like artisanal breads, house made passionfruit marshmallows, or other treats selected by the chefs come at an additional $10.
Harvest Bites will soon be offering additional products that can be added to each purchase, including OzHarvest’s house made fermented green chilli sauce and Chef Travis Harvey’s red pepper sesame oil, Olsson’s Sea Salt Flakes, and other selections. All profits will go towards supporting OzHarvest.
The weekly menu will be available to view at www.harvestbites.com.au with orders cut-off by 2pm each Thursday, for the following Monday delivery*.
*delivery available to limited Sydney suburbs is charged at $15. Limited orders available each week.
