OzHarvest is thrilled to be the official charity partner for The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Month presented by Citi for the sixth year running, and in celebration of this will be offering foodies the chance to be a part of some special events that are guaranteed to feed their bellies and their soul!

This year, OzHarvest Good Food Month events include a series of KitchenTable dinners proudly supported by Virgin Mobile and Vittoria Coffee taking you behind the scenes of food rescue at OzHarvest HQ.

KitchenTable dinners will see 10 secret chefs prepare a delicious three-course menu over 10 nights for an intimate dining experience with exquisite wines matched and donated by TarraWarra Estate. A line up of top chefs will be revealed on the night and include high profile OzHarvest Ambassadors such as Guillaume Brahimi of Guillaume, Hamish Ingham of Bar H, Lennox Hastie of Firedoor and many more!

There will also be an opportunity to say hi to OzHarvest volunteers at the Night Noodle Markets at the Good Fortune Cookie Cart and find your fortune in exchange for a gold coin donation!

All proceeds from the KitchenTable events and funds raised from fortune cookies will allow OzHarvest to continue the work we do in the community in food rescue, education and engagement and allow us to feed even more Aussies in need.

OzHarvest encourages all Good Food Month event attendees to make better use of their mobile phones during this month of foodie festivities and get ready to take pics of all their delicious meals. For each and every food pic posted on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook using the hashtag #mealforameal, we can deliver one real meal to someone in need, thanks to Virgin Mobile! Virgin Mobile & Vittoria Coffee present OzHarvest KitchenTable dinners

Based on the success of the Table for Ten Dinners in 2014 we are offering a series of 10 KitchenTable dinners, featuring menus from 10 secret chefs, at our OzHarvest warehouse headquarters.

The KitchenTable dinners will be a private dining experience like no other where 40 guests will be cooked a three-course meal by some of Australia’s finest chefs within a space where food rescue happens daily. The line-up features Sydney’s hottest chefs including; Guillaume Brahimi (Guillaume), Monty Koludrovic (Icebergs Dining Room + Bar), Lennox Hastie (Firedoor), Rob Cockerill (Bennelong) and more.

Each intimate evening will offer guests views directly into the kitchen from the dining table, an opportunity to meet the Chef behind the menu and a chance to enjoy stunning food and exquisite wines provided by Tarra Warra Estate, all while helping those in need.

It will not only be a special experience entirely unique and deliciously different but each diner joining us will allow OzHarvest to deliver 400 meals to vulnerable Australians, with a goal to provide a further 10,000 meals from each dinner.

Secret Chefs will be revealed at the beginning of each dinner. So, bring a date, a family member or a group of friends and be sure to post pics of your food with hashtag #mealforameal, which will allow OzHarvest to provide a real meal to someone in need thanks to Virgin Mobile.

Noodle Markets – OzHarvest Good Fortune Cookie Cart

Each year OzHarvest volunteers with yellow vans rescue surplus food from the popular Night Noodle Markets.

Keep an eye out for our volunteers at the bright yellow OzHarvest Good Fortune Cookie Cart, where you will receive a fortune cookie in exchange for a gold coin donation. Every $1 donated allows OzHarvest to provide two meals to people in need! Donate and good karma will look after you! Or just stop by and say hi to our wonderful volunteers who can tell you more about our work.
