Bright and early yesterday morning OzHarvest joined the Torrens Rail Junction Project team for a celebratory BBQ at its Bowden site office.
In support of what we do, the project team had been fundraising all year long by recycling their bottles and cans. They managed to collect a massive 48,000 cans and bottles. That’s incredible! Not only has this provided much needed funds for OzHarvest, but it has saved tens of thousands of containers from going to landfill. Win/win!
As well as their recycling project many of the team members donated, as well as some of their corporate supporters including Laing O’Rourke, KBR, Bardavcol, GT Planning, Robar Civil, TMK Engineering, WorkPac Group, Timelapse Adelaide and Crane Services. Thank you in particular to Conroy’s, Select and Aimsetters who made the BBQ and celebrations possible.
Through all this fundraising we were incredibly humbled and thrilled to pick up a HUGE cheque for $12,471.50 which means we will be able to rescue and deliver a further 24,943 meals to people doing in tough across Adelaide. What a way to end the year! Thanks so much to all involved for your incredible generosity.
