Two Years of Aussie Feeding Aussies
by
We are so proud to have had Aussie Home Loans as a partner for the last two years. Their generosity has enabled us to feed over 1 million vulnerable Australians through a mix of corporate donations and fundraising activities from Aussie’s mortgage brokers and team members.
The Aussie team has rallied behind the partnership in so many ways, and we are always blown away by their enthusiasm to support our mission to Nourish Our Country. Since the partnership began, over 350 Aussie brokers and team members around the country have participated in our Cooking for a Cause program – an amazing team-building activity where they participate in a cooking class, turning rescued produce into beautiful gourmet meals that are then delivered to the charities we support.
In addition, the Aussie team has stepped up to support our fundraising efforts through activities such as the Night Noodle Markets, bake-offs, collecting donations at their retail stores, and the Christmas Tree of Goodness.
Over the Christmas period we were thrilled to receive an incredible donation of over 250 Christmas Hams and 350 Christmas Hampers from Aussie staff. Our charities were incredibly grateful for the joy and nourishment these hampers brought at what can be a difficult time of year for the 3.6 million Australians who seek food relief annually.
In addition, Aussie CEO James Symond has participated in our flagship event, the CEO Cookoff, personally raising over $110,000. Our CEO and Founder, Ronni Kahn, was thrilled to be asked to give a keynote address at the 2017 Aussie Sales Conference – Think. Her speech was an inspiration to Aussie’s brokers, business partners and team members who are proud to partner with a company that has such a strong social conscience.
We are excited to announce that Aussie and OzHarvest will be renewing our partnership in 2018 and we can’t wait to see the incredible impact it will have in the lives of hungry Aussies over the next two years and beyond.
