OzHarvest’s Nourishing Our Schools program tackles children’s food insecurity both in schools and at home across Perth. Schools can register for both programs – Food for Learning and Food for Thriving Boxes.
Food for Learning
A continuation of our existing Food Rescue program which is aimed to nourish vulnerable individual students. We can supply a mix of good quality rescued food for breakfast, lunch and school cooking programs including fruit, vegetables, bread, cereal, milk and healthy snacks – subject to availability. Each week our vans will arrive onsite to deliver a selection of surplus food items collected from our food donors.
Food for Thriving Boxes
This program aims to provide non-perishable food hamper boxes for identified families within the school community that need support. Each school (if required) can receive three boxes per week, or a single delivery of 30 hampers per term.
OzHarvest has been fortunate to receive incredible support and funding for our Nourishing Our Schools Program through the Channel 7 Telethon Trust.
