Food Relief

During COVID-19 many people have sought food assistance for the first time in their lives. To meet this increase in need, OzHarvest has distributed emergency food relief throughout the Illawarra – over 3,000 hampers and 15,000 cooked meals, prepared by OzHarvest volunteers and chefs.

Volunteer

A small team of Wollongong volunteers assist our food rescue drivers, allowing us to divert more food from landfill and feed people in need. Our volunteer food rescue assistant shifts are approximately 6-8 hours long and take place on weekdays. It’s a slightly physical role but highly rewarding way to spend a day!

FEAST runs for 7-10 weeks and is a STEM project-based learning program focusing on food and sustainability. The teacher-led program can be adapted and changed to suit your school’s needs.

Like any good FEAST, it’s designed to be fun, engaging and filled with good food.
